Where We Work

Putting Children First: Transforming Lives in Africa's Marginalized Communities

Our work in Kenya focuses on uplifting the most deprived and marginalized children, ensuring they have the opportunity to survive, learn, and achieve their full potential. This commitment is reflected through various projects tailored to address the specific needs of different communities.

WAVE Children’s Foundation began in 2019 after Jens, his wife Nicole, and their daughters Natalia and Sophia visited the Children’s Garden Home in Nairobi during a trip to Kenya. The children’s warmth, strength, and hope deeply touched them. What started as a simple visit soon became a strong commitment to support vulnerable children and help create better opportunities for their future.

The foundation first began its work in Nairobi, Kenya, supporting children through education, nutrition, healthcare, sports and community programs. Today, WAVE’s impact has grown beyond Kenya and now reaches communities in Zanzibar and Ethiopia, working with both local and international partners to help children learn, grow, and build brighter futures.

Naivasha Farmland Project, Kenya

Farmland Initiative

In Naivasha, our efforts are centered around the CGH farmland project. This region, primarily known for its agricultural potential, sees many children who must balance school with labor-intensive farm work. The CGH farmland initiative integrates educational programs with agricultural training, teaching children and their families sustainable farming practices.

Vocational Training Centre

By preparing the children for the outside world, we are in plans to construct a vocational Centre at the Naivasha Farmland premises where the kids can train and gain first hand skills that can help them earn a living and secure opportunities.

Volunteer Program

Volunteering is key to helping children explore their interests and discover new passions. Through our one-year volunteer program, WAVE connects caring individuals with our centers to inspire, guide, and support the children’s growth.

Sponsor a child program

WAVE’s Sponsor a Child program gives donors the chance to directly transform a child’s life by providing education, healthcare, and daily support, with guided communication and regular follow-up to keep sponsors connected to their child’s journey. For those who wish to make a broader impact, our Mission Child Sponsorship option allows donors to sponsor specific school programs—such as sports, nutrition, or academics—ensuring that the children participating in those initiatives benefit directly from their generosity.

Zanzibar

Heroes Academy | Gasica Centre Farmland Project

Looking ahead, WAVE is eager to expand this proven agricultural model beyond Kenya. Plans are already in place to purchase land in Zanzibar and replicate the successes of Naivasha and the Maasai Mara.
